Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ki Xang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Walnuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xang's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pschosocial-Slipknot. Paul Walnuts told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walnuts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Xang tries to avoid it but Walnuts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Xang to the ground. Xang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Xang half committed to a counter leg kick.
Xang doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Walnuts has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Xang cracks the inside of Walnuts's front leg.
Xang is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Xang scores with a sloppy right hand. Walnuts should have avoided that one.
Xang is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Walnuts's half guard.
Xang is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walnuts sees it coming and defends easily.
Xang lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Xang winds up and cracks Walnuts with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Xang not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Xang in particular looking to stall.
Walnuts keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Xang would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Xang's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Walnuts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Oh but Xang is tightening it up a little... Walnuts has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Walnuts reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Walnuts taps out! Nice BJJ there by Xang!
