Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulie Soprano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Desmond Armstrong has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paulie Soprano!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soprano moves into range and clinches up with Armstrong.
Soprano tries to circle away but Armstrong has him pinned against the cage.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but Soprano forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Armstrong working hard to break the clinch.
Armstrong is trying to break the clinch but Soprano has him pressed against the cage.
Armstrong throws a head punch that misses.

Soprano pulls guard successfully.

Soprano is looking for a triangle but Armstrong pushes his legs off easily.
Armstrong landing with the ground and pound.
Armstrong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soprano has Armstrong pulled in close to control his posture.
Armstrong loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Armstrong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Soprano manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Armstrong manages to get himself to full guard.

Armstrong wants to get back to his feet but Soprano drags him back down.

Armstrong is looking to counter the offense by Soprano and move into the clinch.

Soprano drives through and clinches with Armstrong against the cage.

Soprano lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Armstrong is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Soprano's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Soprano's back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Armstrong struggling a bit here.

Soprano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Armstrong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Armstrong is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Soprano has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Soprano decides to stand up, so the ref orders Armstrong to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulie Soprano dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Soprano goes for a double leg but Armstrong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Armstrong continues to drive forward.
Soprano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Paulie Soprano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soprano fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Armstrong looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Soprano throws a leg kick but Armstrong sees it coming and moves out of range.
Soprano changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Armstrong tries to avoid it but Soprano manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Armstrong to the ground. Armstrong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Armstrong drops down looking for a counter takedown but Soprano sprawls and moves away.
Desmond Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulie Soprano.
Armstrong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Armstrong wants it to stay on the feet.

Armstrong moves into the clinch.

Soprano bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Armstrong's guard.

Soprano tries to stand but Armstrong is controlling from the bottom.
Armstrong wants to stand and escape but Soprano is having none of it.
Soprano is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Paulie Soprano has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Soprano stands up from Armstrong's guard - Soprano perhaps looking for a knockout.

Armstrong gets tackled into the cage by Soprano. Soprano maintains the clinch.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Soprano just stands there and leans against the cage.
Soprano drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Soprano tries to pull guard but Armstrong holds him up against the cage and eventually Soprano drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Armstrong jumps guard and drags Soprano to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Armstrong is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Soprano stands and throws Armstrong's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Soprano has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Armstrong is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Soprano off and has taken his back!
Soprano wants to escape the position.

Armstrong has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Soprano.

Soprano rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Armstrong is just content to waste time from the top position. Soprano takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Armstrong wants to stand but Soprano is controlling his posture from full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Soprano looking to hit a scissor sweep but Armstrong is one step ahead there.
Armstrong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Soprano utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Desmond Armstrong will probably get the nod.

and Armstrong counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Soprano thinking.

Soprano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Armstrong wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Soprano drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Armstrong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Armstrong slaps away a takedown attempt from Soprano, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Armstrong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Soprano takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Armstrong tries to clinch but Soprano moves out of range.
Soprano goes for a double leg but Armstrong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Armstrong continues to drive forward.

Armstrong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Armstrong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Soprano wants to slow Armstrong down by chopping away at his legs.
Soprano lands with a shot to the body.
Soprano shoots for a double leg takedown but Armstrong sprawls well. He's pushed Soprano's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Armstrong tries to keep at a distance but Soprano has taken the fight into the clinch.

Armstrong wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Soprano has him pressed against the cage.
Soprano lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Armstrong backwards.

Armstrong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Soprano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Armstrong is trying to push Soprano away but Soprano has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Armstrong wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Soprano has him pressed against the cage.

Armstrong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Soprano gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Soprano content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Armstrong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Soprano walks away with a smile on his face. Armstrong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paulie Soprano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Soprano has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
