Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jospeh Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rofus Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Perry is out of range.
Kimura pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rofus Kimura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Perry drives through with a takedown into guard.

Perry throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura has a closed guard, preventing Perry from standing up.
Kimura should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Perry trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kimura has eaten all the pies!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Perry's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Perry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Perry throws a big elbow that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Perry shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kimura but Kimura pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Perry shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Perry showed some decent athleticism there.
Kimura wants to stand back up but Perry manages to pass into side control.

Kimura on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Perry thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kimura wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Perry postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kimura tries to buck Perry off but Perry is having none of it.

Perry decides to take the fight back to the feet.
