Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jos De Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arilius Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arilius Maximus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
De Vos throws out a loose jab but Maximus uses good head movement to avoid it.

De Vos looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
De Vos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maximus on the ground.
De Vos scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Nice strikes from De Vos there.
De Vos wants to stand but Maximus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
De Vos lands with a punch from half guard.
De Vos is trying to control the action in half guard but Maximus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Vos connects with a nice short shot to Maximus's temple.

De Vos trying to mount his opponent but Maximus defends it.
De Vos wants to control but Maximus is keeping him busy.
De Vos is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Maximus is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but De Vos pulls his head out easily.
Maximus manages to get to full guard.

De Vos looking to pass the guard.
De Vos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
De Vos wants to control from the top but Maximus keeps moving.
De Vos distracts Maximus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
De Vos wants to stand but Maximus has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Maximus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Vos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Maximus had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. De Vos is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maximus Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take De Vos's back instead.

Maximus working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maximus has the hooks in. De Vos is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maximus working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
De Vos wants to escape the position.

Maximus is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged De Vos with him. De Vos is trying to defend but Maximus has an arm under the chin now! De Vos grimaces and is forced to tap out!
