The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Capaldi but Capaldi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dar on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Capaldi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Capaldi misses with the combination.
Dar changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Capaldi looks to land a combination but Dar avoids it well.

Dar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Capaldi, pushing him back against the cage.
Capaldi prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dar has Capaldi pressed against the cage.
Capaldi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dar prevents Capaldi from breaking the clinch.
Capaldi tries to throw a body punch but Dar avoids it by throwing Capaldi back against the cage.
Dar is working for takedown but Capaldi is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lappi Dar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Capaldi can't find room to land a body shot as Dar controls the action.

Capaldi is trying to force a seperation but Dar has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Capaldi's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Capaldi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Dar gets control of Capaldi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Dar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Capaldi wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Dar's closed guard. He's half up but Dar has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Dar pivots and extends the arm, Capaldi falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Dar! Well done that man!
