Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aurelio Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Moore!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera gets caught flat footed, as Moore shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Moore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rivera is adopting a defensive guard.
Rivera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Moore wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving.
Rivera seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Moore trying to control the position from guard on top but Rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moore uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rivera.

Rivera went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Moore swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ryan Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rivera gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rivera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rivera isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moore stacks Rivera on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moore!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You can see the frustration on Rivera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rivera isn't going anywhere.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rivera keeps the fight on the outside.

Moore shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rivera's guard.
Rivera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moore's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Moore controls Rivera momentarily but Rivera frees himself.
Rivera wants to get up but he can't break Moore's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moore wants to stand and escape but Rivera is having none of it.
Rivera distracts Moore with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Rivera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rivera postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Moore is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rivera, into his guard.


Moore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rivera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Moore has managed to get both his arms back between Rivera's legs - danger averted.
Moore has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rivera keeping moving, preventing Moore from controlling successfully.
Rivera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Moore wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving.
Rivera could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rivera has his hands on Moore's head, controlling the position.

Rivera has his foot on Moore's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moore works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rivera has control of Moore's left arm, preventing Moore from doing any damage.

Rivera pulls Moore in close to prevent any damage.

Rivera has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Moore is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rivera.
Moore is looking to take a break and control but Rivera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
