Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Macias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Hold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Macias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcin Hold!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hold closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hold seems to be working for a kimura but Macias defends the submission attempt.
Macias pushes Hold off looking to stand but Hold dives back in and keeps control.

Hold is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hold is working for a submission of some sort.
Macias desperately trying to maintain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macias is trying to stand up here but Hold is controlling him well.

Hold is looking for a kimura but Macias is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hold to get the leverage.

Hold is pressing down on Macias's thigh, looking to free his foot. Macias is holding on for now.
Macias regains full guard. Nicely done.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hold has gone for a leg lock! Macias slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hold's guard.

Macias will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Macias won't allow Hold to sweep him here.

Hold is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Macias trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hold escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Macias gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hold lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Macias has control of Hold's left arm, preventing Hold from doing any damage.

Macias wants to stand and escape but Hold is having none of it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Macias holds on and takes a little breather.
Hold wants to control from the top but Macias keeps moving.

Hold drops back, looking for a kneebar! Macias looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Macias looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Macias!

Hold looking for a sweep but Macias has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Macias with shots to the head and body - Hold looks very uncomfortable down there.

Macias is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Macias looking to score a takedown here. Hold is defending well but Macias drives through and ends up in Hold's guard.

Hold had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Macias defends it easily.
Macias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hold wants to hit a switch here but Macias passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hold there!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Hold drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Macias explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hold tries to pass the half guard into mount. Macias knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Macias tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hold is in Macias's guard.
Hold wants to control from the top but Macias keeps moving.
Macias has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Macias is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hold dives into side control.

Hold wants to control but Macias is keeping him busy.
Hold tries to advance to mount but Macias denies him.

Hold is trying to get an arm triangle but Macias is defending well.

Hold is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Macias knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hold shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hold was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Macias throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Hold takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hold is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Macias is controlling Hold's trapped leg to prevent Hold from advancing to side control.
Hold prevents Macias from standing back up.
Macias wants to improve his position but Hold is controlling well.
Macias knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hold on the ground.

Hold is looking for a kimura here.

Macias has one foot on Hold's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Macias manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hold on his heels. He'll look to pass Hold's guard now, I'm sure.
Macias wants to get up but he can't break Hold's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hold looking to hit a scissor sweep but Macias is one step ahead there.

Hold is looking to cinch up a triangle. Macias throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hold's body to avoid the submission. Hold has instead reached around Macias's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hold arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
