Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christophe Bauwens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaun Styles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christophe Bauwens!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Styles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bauwens walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Styles checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Styles went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bauwens stuffs the takedown attempt from Styles. Styles gets slowly back to his feet.
Bauwens shoots in but no luck this time.
Styles thows a left - swing and a miss!

Bauwens rushes Styles and presses him up against the cage.
Bauwens drops down looking for an ankle pick but Styles pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bauwens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Styles defends it nicely.
We've been told by Styles's head coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shaun Styles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christophe Bauwens.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bauwens looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Styles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Styles stopping the sweep attempt from Bauwens.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Styles is keen to just control but Bauwens is a slippery customer.
Bauwens tries to roll over but Styles keeps him under control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bauwens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Styles avoids it really well and circles away.

Bauwens is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Styles defends well.

Styles postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Bauwens to stand up.
Bauwens shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Styles pinned against the cage. Styles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Styles throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Bauwens goes for a takedown in the clinch but Styles prevents it.

Styles gets underhooks to prevent Bauwens's takedown attempt.
Styles is pressed up against the cage. Bauwens has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Styles down to the mat. Styles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Styles throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bauwens leaves Styles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bauwens unleashes a big counter combination but Styles bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Styles tries to close the distance and clinch but Bauwens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bauwens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Styles counters with a left and a right that stings Bauwens.

Bauwens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bauwens is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Styles is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Styles pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Styles was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

I would just about give that final round to Christophe Bauwens.
I think Bauwens has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
