The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Toomsalu drives through with a takedown into Briggs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Briggs kicks Toomsalu off and gets to his feet.

Briggs has his foot on Toomsalu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Toomsalu works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toomsalu throws an elbow that misses. Briggs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Toomsalu's guard. Nice move by Briggs!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Briggs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Toomsalu dives on top into guard.

Toomsalu stands and throws Briggs's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Toomsalu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Briggs keeps working.
Briggs wants to control but Toomsalu postures up.
Briggs prevents Toomsalu from moving into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ground and pound from Toomsalu seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Toomsalu stands up and beckons Briggs to his feet.
Briggs shoots for a takedown but Toomsalu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Toomsalu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
