Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Weston Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cerrone Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Weston Casey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cerrone Clark!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Clark showed some decent athleticism there.
Casey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Clark not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Casey is trying to stand back up but Clark is controlling him

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Clark closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Casey's guard.

Casey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clark accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Casey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clark controls the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Casey is looking to stand back up but Clark counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Casey.
Casey is staying active underneath Clark, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Clark is working for a kimura but Casey is defending it quite comfortably.
Clark is trying to control. Casey wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Casey is looking to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Casey enables Clark to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Casey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Clark stops Casey from standing up.

Clark postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Casey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Clark, into his guard.

Clark thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Clark escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Casey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Clark has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Casey is working away from the top position though.
Cerrone Clark has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Casey slips a nice elbow through Clark's hands, connecting with Clark's forehead.
Clark has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Casey is working away from the top position though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Casey connects with a nice short shot to Clark's temple.
Clark regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Casey.

Clark is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Casey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Casey lands a couple of digs.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Casey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Casey throws an elbow that misses. Clark uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Casey's guard. Nice move by Clark!

That was a close second round but I would say that Weston Casey will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Clark shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Clark was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Casey bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Clark seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Casey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clark is stalling here. Casey is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Clark seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Casey has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Casey's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
