The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cluggins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fernandez.
Fernandez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cluggins circles away quickly and effectively.
Fernandez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
An inside leg kick from Cluggins misses.
Cluggins takes a jab right on the kisser.
Cluggins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Cluggins's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cluggins duly obliges.
Nice uppercut there from Fernandez.
Cluggins takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cluggins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fernandez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cluggins.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cluggins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cluggins is posturing up here but Fernandez has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Cluggins tries to roll out but it's too tight and Cluggins has to tap! Slick submission there by Fernandez!
