Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alan Mullins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Alan Mullins has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alan Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benny Perez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Perez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mullins has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mullins is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
A lull in the action here as Perez stalls from top position.
Mullins is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mullins's legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez cracks Mullins with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Mullins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Perez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mullins tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Perez manages to move to mount!
Mullins tries to reverse the position but Perez maintains control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mullins pushes Perez off looking to stand but Perez dives back in and keeps control.
Perez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mullins takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Perez's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
