Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Fitzpatrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto Bostarovski! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bostarovski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fitzpatrick trying to control but Bostarovski postures up.
Bostarovski is figuring out what he wants to do next. Fitzpatrick trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick is looking to improve his position.
Bostarovski wants to work for an arm triangle but Fitzpatrick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bostarovski stands up and beckons Fitzpatrick to join him on the feet. Bostarovski rushes Fitzpatrick and presses him up against the cage. Bostarovski gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Bostarovski controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bostarovski throws a strike but Fitzpatrick rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Fitzpatrick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bostarovski seems keen to control Fitzpatrick's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bostarovski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fitzpatrick is aware though and is defending well. Bostarovski looking for a guillotine here but Fitzpatrick defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bostarovski pushes Fitzpatrick off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Bostarovski dives in and scores a takedown into Fitzpatrick's guard.

Fitzpatrick is working an open guard so Bostarovski takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Bostarovski throws a body kick that misses. Bostarovski pushes Fitzpatrick up against the cage in a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bostarovski slowing the pace effectively. Fitzpatrick is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bostarovski turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Fitzpatrick throws Bostarovski to one side and escapes! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bostarovski gets control of Fitzpatrick's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bostarovski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bostarovski tries to advance to mount but can't. Roberto Bostarovski has got the better of the ground game so far. Bostarovski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fitzpatrick, who protects the arm well.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bostarovski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Fitzpatrick is trying to control the position but Bostarovski postures up. Bostarovski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fitzpatrick throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bostarovski moves into the clinch. Fitzpatrick jumps guard but Bostarovski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Bostarovski has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bostarovski wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Fitzpatrick is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bostarovski is defending well. Bostarovski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Bostarovski is pulling down on Fitzpatrick's head to control his posture.

Bostarovski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fitzpatrick defends it easily. Bostarovski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Fitzpatrick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bostarovski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fitzpatrick, into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostarovski sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fitzpatrick's guard. Bostarovski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bostarovski controlling the action here. Bostarovski postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Fitzpatrick to stand up. Bostarovski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fitzpatrick did well to prevent Bostarovski getting side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bostarovski controlling the action here. Oh Fitzpatrick is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Fitzpatrick throws a strike from the bottom but Bostarovski passes into side control!
Fitzpatrick is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bostarovski connects with a decent elbow. Bostarovski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fitzpatrick will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Bostarovski is trying to get an arm triangle but Fitzpatrick is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bostarovski in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Fitzpatrick looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Bostarovski turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
