PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hirohidi Takanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman Fidelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takanaka comes to the cage accompanied by Bleach - Dead Blood. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hirohidi Takanaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Herman Fidelis!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takanaka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fidelis is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Fidelis is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Takanaka drops back looking for a leg! Fidelis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fidelis manages to kick Takanaka off! Takanaka jumps back into Fidelis's guard.

Fidelis has his foot on Takanaka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Takanaka works his way back into a safe position though.

Fidelis pushes off an throws an elbow but Takanaka leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Takanaka tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fidelis smiles and moves away.

Takanaka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Takanaka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Takanaka tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee warns Fidelis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fidelis wants to control but Takanaka is having none of it.

Takanaka wants to take Fidelis's back here but Fidelis is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Takanaka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fidelis tries to avoid it but Takanaka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fidelis to the ground. Fidelis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takanaka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
