Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Riki Horiguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Riki Horiguchi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Riki Horiguchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dwayne Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horiguchi gets the takedown into side control.
Peterson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Horiguchi looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Horiguchi looking to control and managing it successfully.
Peterson is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peterson is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Peterson tries to lock up and control but Horiguchi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Peterson has eaten all the pies!
Peterson really wants to buck Horiguchi off and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horiguchi wants to finish this one by submission but Peterson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Horiguchi.
Horiguchi wants to control the pace but Peterson is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peterson tries to lock up and control but Horiguchi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Peterson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Peterson wants to control but Horiguchi is having none of it.

Horiguchi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Horiguchi has managed to get both his arms back between Peterson's legs - danger averted.
Peterson has control of Horiguchi's left arm, preventing Horiguchi from doing any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Nice takedown defense from Horiguchi. No joy for Peterson on that attempt.
Peterson throws a body punch but Horiguchi moves out of range.
Horiguchi tries to counter with a takedown but Peterson is quick to defend against it.
Peterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Horiguchi is fending him off so far but Peterson persists. Nope, Horiguchi circles away and we're back to standing.
Horiguchi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Peterson misses with a takedown attempt - Horiguchi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Riki Horiguchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Peterson.

Horiguchi rushes Peterson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Peterson tries to score a body lock takedown but Horiguchi shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Peterson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Peterson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riki Horiguchi dominated that round.

Horiguchi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Horiguchi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Peterson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Horiguchi is trying to defend but Peterson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Horiguchi is trying to maintain the position but Peterson is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Peterson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Peterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Horiguchi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Peterson wants to pass to mount but Horiguchi is defending the position.
Peterson is taking a breather. Horiguchi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Horiguchi is not content to let Peterson control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Horiguchi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Horiguchi leaves Peterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Peterson misses with a head kick.
Peterson misses with the combination.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horiguchi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Horiguchi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And Peterson tries to counter it with a takedown but Horiguchi pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Peterson feints and as Horiguchi raises his hands in defense, Peterson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Peterson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Horiguchi on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Peterson tries to stand but Horiguchi is controlling his head.

Peterson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Horiguchi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Peterson is staying tight to Horiguchi's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Peterson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Horiguchi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Peterson is looking to take a break and control but Horiguchi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dwayne Peterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Horiguchi tries to sprawl but Peterson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Horiguchi is staying active underneath Peterson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Peterson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Nice strikes from Peterson there.
Peterson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Horiguchi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Peterson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peterson is looking to take a break and control but Horiguchi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Peterson trying to mount his opponent but Horiguchi defends it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterson connects with a nice short shot to Horiguchi's temple.
Peterson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Peterson moves into full mount! Horiguchi won't be happy about that!

Horiguchi is trying desperately to improve position.

BOOM! Peterson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Peterson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Horiguchi tries to lock up and control but Peterson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Peterson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Horiguchi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Peterson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dwayne Peterson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Peterson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
