Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kharitonov's entrance music is BLUNT - Raggae All Day. A fine choice. Hayabusa has chosen Forgotten as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Kharitonov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Akira Hayabusa!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Kharitonov misses
and Hayabusa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hayabusa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kharitonov.
Kharitonov scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Akira Hayabusa has been cut.
Hayabusa slips under a jab from Kharitonov.
Kharitonov sets himself, and Hayabusa steps forward looking for the clinch! Kharitonov avoids it this time.
Hayabusa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hayabusa only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Kharitonov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hayabusa feints the counter takedown.
Hayabusa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hayabusa blocks a jab.
Hayabusa with the counter takedown but Kharitonov avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kharitonov, as that shot connected.

Kharitonov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.


Hayabusa is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayabusa pushes Kharitonov off looking to stand but Kharitonov dives back in and keeps control.
Hayabusa is still in real trouble! Can Kharitonov finish him?
Hayabusa has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Well, if Kharitonov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hayabusa moves into full guard.
Kharitonov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kharitonov stopping the sweep attempt from Hayabusa.
Kharitonov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hayabusa seems to have recovered his senses.
Hayabusa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hayabusa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kharitonov has passed into side control.
Kharitonov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hayabusa keeps working.

Hayabusa is trying to control Kharitonov's posture but Kharitonov avoids it.

Hayabusa seems a little lost for a moment, as Kharitonov dominates the positioning.
You can see the frustration on Hayabusa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kharitonov happy to just control the position for now.
Hayabusa tries to bench press Kharitonov off him but Kharitonov keeps the position.
Hayabusa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kharitonov off and has taken his back!
Hayabusa is not going to allow Kharitonov to sit and survive in this position.

Hayabusa is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Kharitonov wants to control his opponent's hands but Hayabusa gets his hands free.

Hayabusa is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kharitonov has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kharitonov tries to break free.
Well, with Hayabusa on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Kharitonov is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Kharitonov is working hard here to advance position.
Hayabusa trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Kharitonov trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Kharitonov covering up well and avoiding damage.
Kharitonov wants to control his opponent's hands but Hayabusa gets his hands free.
Kharitonov is keeping busy.
Hayabusa is not going to allow Kharitonov to sit and survive in this position.
Hayabusa connects with a big shot to the side of Kharitonov's head.
I really don't envy Kharitonov right now.
Kharitonov trying to control the hands but Hayabusa won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Akira Hayabusa will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kharitonov loads up on a big right hand but Hayabusa slips the punch.
Hayabusa with the counter takedown but Kharitonov avoids it easily.
Kharitonov thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hayabusa only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Hayabusa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kharitonov can pounce on him.
Kharitonov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hayabusa takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kharitonov getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Hayabusa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kharitonov.
Kharitonov drops Hayabusa with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Hayabusa! Kharitonov dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Kharitonov!
Vladimir Kharitonov thanked the fans post fight for their support.
