Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuu Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryuu Masaru is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryuu Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masaru shoots for a double leg takedown but Peterson sprawls well. He's pushed Masaru's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peterson clobbers Masaru with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Peterson throws a body shot but no joy.
Nice shot lands for Peterson.
Peterson misses with a few strikes there.
Peterson misses with a wild body shot.
Peterson throws an off balance right hand
and Masaru counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Peterson takes a swing at Masaru's ribcage but misses.
Peterson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Masaru to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peterson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Masaru got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Masaru has managed to get both his arms back between Peterson's legs - danger averted.
Masaru postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Masaru wants to get up but he can't break Peterson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masaru missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Peterson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Masaru gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Peterson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Masaru trying to control but Peterson is working from the bottom.
Masaru's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Masaru passes into half guard.
Peterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Masaru seems to be looking for submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Peterson gets full guard.
Masaru trying to control but Peterson is working from the bottom.
Peterson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masaru can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Masaru trying to control the position from guard on top but Peterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peterson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Masaru has picked Peterson up and slammed him! Peterson can't keep hold of the triangle and Masaru manages to pass to side control!
Peterson is looking for a sweep.

Peterson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Masaru off and has taken his back!
Peterson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Masaru is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Masaru prevents Peterson from getting a body triangle.
Peterson is looking for the choke from the back position but Masaru is controlling his hands well.

Peterson gets his hands free as Masaru looks to control.
Peterson working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Masaru is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Peterson has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Masaru taps out!
