The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arantes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Arantes was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

It looked like Silva was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Arantes feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Arantes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Arantes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arantes has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Edison Arantes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Arantes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
