PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kali Parlsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrison comes to the cage accompanied by The Warrior Song. Kali Parlsh will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kali Parlsh!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parlsh shoots for a double leg takedown but Harrison sprawls well. He's pushed Parlsh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Parlsh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harrison avoids it really well and circles away.
Parlsh misses with a series of wild punches.
Harrison fires out a quick counter leg kick but Parlsh just manages to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parlsh seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Parlsh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harrison looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harrison looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harrison!

Harrison throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Parlsh escapes and throws Harrison's legs to the side, diving into side control!

We've been informed that Parlsh has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
You can see the frustration on Harrison's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Parlsh is persistently looking for the submission but Harrison is defending it well.

Parlsh is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Harrison knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Harrison for a finish.

Harrison is covering up but some of the strikes from Parlsh are getting through and doing damage.

Harrison is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Parlsh gets his way!

Kali Parlsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It looked like Harrison was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
