The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kuznetsov throws out a powerful jab.
Franklin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kuznetsov wants to stand back up but Franklin manages to pass into side control.

Franklin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kuznetsov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Franklin is nestled in close to Kuznetsov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
