Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dee Falt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esko Marttinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esko Marttinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dee Falt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Esko Marttinen!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falt closes the distance and clinches up with Marttinen, looking for a takedown. Falt pushes Marttinen against the ropes but Marttinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Marttinen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Falt connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Falt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Marttinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Falt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marttinen circles away quickly and effectively.
Marttinen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marttinen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Falt appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Falt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marttinen sprawls well initially but Falt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Marttinen won't allow Falt to pass to mount.
Marttinen wants to get back to his feet.
Marttinen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Falt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marttinen is just riding it out for now. Falt eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marttinen cracks Falt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Marttinen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Falt throws out the jab.

Falt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Falt grinds an elbow into Marttinen's temple.
Falt prevents Marttinen from escaping the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Marttinen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Falt asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Falt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marttinen pinned against the ropes. Marttinen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's time! Falt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Marttinen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Marttinen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marttinen just misses with a punch to the body.
Falt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marttinen manages to avoid it.
Falt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marttinen but Marttinen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Marttinen pushes Falt off looking to stand but Falt dives back in and keeps control.
Marttinen regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Falt.
Marttinen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Falt is controlling him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marttinen wants to stand up but Falt is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Marttinen walks into a left hand.
Falt takes one to the side of the head.
Falt scores with a sloppy right hand. Marttinen should have avoided that one.
Marttinen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Falt.
Marttinen lands the left hand.
Marttinen displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Falt scores with a nice head shot.
Falt throws a jab but it's blocked by Marttinen.
Marttinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Falt.
Falt connects with a looping right hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dee Falt.
I think Falt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Dee Falt rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
