The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wakahisa throws a chopping leg kick but Nelson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Nelson closes the distance and pushes Wakahisa back into the cage.

Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nelson dives in for a single leg takedown but Wakahisa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nelson really is a fat lump.
Nelson tries a low kick but Wakahisa avoids it.
Wakahisa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nelson is out of range and Wakahisa settles back down.
Willy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wakahisa throws a low kick but Nelson moves out of range easily.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown but Wakahisa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

With the fighters up against the cage, Wakahisa throws an elbow but misses.
Wakahisa lands a knee to the body.
Wakahisa jerks Nelson's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Nelson drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Wakahisa goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Wakahisa because Nelson was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
