Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernie Coffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olivar Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bernie Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Olivar Delgado!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delgado throws a head kick but Coffey moves out of range.

Delgado moves into the clinch successfully.
Delgado avoiding damage.
Coffey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Delgado smiles and moves away.

Coffey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Coffey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coffey is nestled in close to Delgado, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Coffey lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Coffey looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Coffey seems to be working for a kimura but Delgado defends the submission attempt.
Delgado tries to roll over but Coffey keeps him under control.
Delgado is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Coffey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Coffey in particular looking to stall.
Coffey has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Delgado wants to improve his position but Coffey is controlling well.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Coffey.
Coffey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Coffey seems to be looking for submissions.
Delgado is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Delgado is looking to control Coffey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Delgado avoid being mounted?
Coffey wants to stand up but Delgado has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Coffey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Coffey content to control rather than advance.
Delgado wants to control but Coffey is keeping busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Coffey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Delgado!
Coffey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

You can see the frustration on Delgado's face as Coffey controls the position.
Coffey creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Delgado tries to buck Coffey off but Coffey is having none of it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Coffey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Delgado for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bernie Coffey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Delgado drives through and clinches with Coffey against the cage.
Coffey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Delgado can do to turn this around?

Delgado is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Coffey can't fight it off and eventually Delgado manages to take the fight to the floor. Coffey looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Delgado must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delgado is looking to pass into half guard but Coffey pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Coffey is in guard.

Delgado is looking for a triangle but Coffey pushes his legs off easily.

Coffey drops back looking for a leg! Delgado is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Delgado manages to kick Coffey off! Coffey jumps back into Delgado's guard.
Delgado is breathing heavily.

Coffey drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Coffey jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Coffey is stalling in the full guard.
Delgado not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Coffey slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Coffey postures up and lands a big shot to Delgado's brow.
Coffey postures up in Delgado's guard and throws a big left but Delgado blocks it.
Coffey scoring with some ground and pound.
Coffey connects with a couple of short punches.
Delgado looking to control.
Coffey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coffey tries to clinch up.
Nice takedown defense from Delgado. No joy for Coffey on that attempt.
Coffey fails in his attempt to clinch.
A low kick from Delgado misses
and Coffey counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Olivar Delgado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Delgado fails to land with a series of punches.
Coffey drops down looking for a counter takedown but Delgado sprawls and moves away.

Delgado moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Delgado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Delgado fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Coffey sprawls well initially but Delgado persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Delgado tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Delgado really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coffey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Delgado throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Coffey actively working from the bottom here.
Coffey moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Delgado is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Coffey has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Delgado is looking to defend but Coffey has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Delgado! Coffey pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Delgado taps out and this one is all over!
