PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Minh Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Towers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Towers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Towers lands in his opponent's guard.
Towers is working Flores over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Towers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Towers landing with the ground and pound.
Towers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Towers's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Towers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Flores wants to stand but Towers is controlling the position.

Flores knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Towers on the ground.

Flores really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Towers.
Towers distracts Flores with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Flores will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Towers is stalling in the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Flores closes the distance and clinches.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Flores is trying to force a seperation but Towers has the dominant position.
Flores is trying to push Towers away but Towers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Flores pushes off an throws an elbow but Towers leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Towers lands a takedown into guard.

Flores is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Towers postures up and lands a big shot to Flores's brow.

Flores has his foot on Towers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Towers works his way back into a safe position though.
Flores is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Towers cracks Flores with a solid left hand.
Towers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Towers is in close to Flores's body, working some short punches and elbows.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Towers drives through and clinches with Flores against the cage.
Oh Flores is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Towers has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Flores regains guard immediately.
Flores wants to get back to his feet but Towers passes into half guard.

Towers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Towers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Towers is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
A big strike lands for Towers! That's really hurt Flores and he's turned his back - Towers keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Towers jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
