Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoni Kristofer Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timur Rubin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antoni Kristofer Hong!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rubin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hong throws a hook but Rubin blocks it.
Hong buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hong scores with a jab to the jaw.
Rubin misses with a wild body shot.
Rubin checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rubin swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Rubin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gym Beam in the buildup to the fight.

and Rubin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Rubin is nestled in close to Hong, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rubin.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Rubin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hong swings wildly with an uppercut but Rubin uses good head movement to avoid it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Timur Rubin will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rubin moves in looking to clinch but Hong pushes him off.
Hong falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rubin counters with a stiff right hand.
Rubin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hong under the eye.
That kick from Hong tenderised Rubin's leg. Rubin is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hong misses with a hook. Rubin ducked under it nicely.
Rubin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hong.
Hong misses with a low kick.
Rubin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hong has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hong throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A jab from Hong does it's job there.
Hong stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hong throws a sloppy head kick and Rubin moves out of range easily.

Rubin throws a hook but Hong avoids it easily.
Hong takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rubin looks to score with a jab to the body but Hong is just out of range.
Hong appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Rubin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hong feints and then cracks Rubin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rubin down.

Rubin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hong on the side of the head.

Rubin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hong's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rubin throws a big elbow that misses.

Rubin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rubin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Hong does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hong is looking to land body kicks.
Hong throws a looping overhand right but Rubin ducks down to avoid it.
Hong drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rubin staying out of range there.
As Hong tries to get set, Rubin tries to push him back and clinch up but Hong manages to avoid the attempt.

Rubin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hong sprawls well. Hong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rubin gets slowly back to his feet.

Rubin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The fighters circling - Rubin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rubin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hong misses with a body shot.
Rubin tries to counter with a takedown but Hong is quick to defend against it.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hong.
Rubin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hong as he avoids it easily.

Hong lands with a hook. Rubin tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hong throws a looping overhand right but Rubin ducks down to avoid it.

Rubin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hong thuds his shin into the meat of Rubin's side.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rubin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rubin wants to pass to mount but Hong is defending the position.
Well, if Rubin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hong is looking to control Rubin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hong avoid being mounted?
Hong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rubin controlling the pace.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hong is staying active underneath Rubin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Rubin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rubin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hong - the referee stops the clock and Rubin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hong. Rubin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rubin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hong digs a good hook to Rubin's body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antoni Kristofer Hong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rubin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
