PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leo Marquis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marquis comes to the cage accompanied by Heltah Skeltah- ruck n Roll. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Brandao!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marquis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brandao, pushing him back against the cage.

Marquis manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brandao throws a big right hand that misses.
Marquis wants to stand up but Brandao is controlling him.
Marquis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Marquis is trying to control the position but Brandao postures up.

Brandao drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marquis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brandao has Marquis in his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brandao is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marquis is aware though and is defending well.

Brandao is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Marquis's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Brandao wants to sweep but no luck.
Marquis wants to control from the top but Brandao keeps moving.

Marquis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Brandao to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Marquis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Brandao pulls down on the head and he's put Marquis to sleep! This one is all over!
