PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between manuel cruise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cruise comes to the cage accompanied by face the pain - steem. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Larson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. cruise tries to avoid it but Larson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag cruise to the ground. cruise escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Larson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
manuel cruise has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Larson.
Larson shoots in but no luck this time.

cruise feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
cruise chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

cruise wants to get up but he can't break Larson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
cruise knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Larson on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as cruise accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

cruise decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

cruise breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
cruise throws a series of punches but Larson moves out of range.

cruise feints and as Larson raises his hands in defense, cruise changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
cruise has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Larson is proving hard to escape from.

Larson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. cruise is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Larson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take cruise's back instead.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Larson wants to control but cruise is keeping busy and won't allow it.
cruise is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
cruise lands a big elbow.

cruise goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Larson turns into him and now he's in cruise's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Larson cracks cruise with an elbow. That is naaassty.

cruise explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Larson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Larson seems to be working for a kimura but cruise defends the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Larson is bucking up trying to escape but cruise cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
