Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dran Jast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rayle Amot Abdalla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dran Jast has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dran Jast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rayle Amot Abdalla!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Jast blocks the leg kick.
Jast checks a leg kick.
Jast tries to counter with a takedown but Abdalla is quick to defend against it.
Abdalla attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Abdalla chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Abdalla gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jast to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Abdalla has his feet on Jast's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jast tries to free his leg and advance position but Abdalla is retaining full guard.

Jast is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Abdalla is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Abdalla has escaped and now he's on top!

Jast throws his legs up looking for a submission but Abdalla uses it to pass to side control.

Jast tries to bench press Abdalla off him but Abdalla keeps the position.
Jast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abdalla on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A clash of legs there as Jast blocks the low kick.
Abdalla throws a low kick, looking for Jast's leg but Jast calmly moves out of range.

Abdalla gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jast to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jast wants to get up but he can't break Abdalla's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Abdalla is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jast on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jast tries to get out of the position.
Jast is not content to let Abdalla control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jast looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jast wants to advance to full mount but Abdalla doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dran Jast will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Abdalla tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Jast is able to avoid easily.
Jast half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Jast throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Abdalla was covering up waiting for the punch and Jast finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jast postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Abdalla is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jast, into his guard.

Jast is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jast looking for subs off his back but Abdalla has passed one foot through into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abdalla wants to take a breather but Jast is having none of it.
Jast tries to roll over but Abdalla keeps him under control.
Jast is staying active underneath Abdalla, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jast is trying to control but Abdalla passes into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Abdalla wants to free his trapped foot but Jast is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jast flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Jast is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Abdalla pulls his head out easily.

Jast shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abdalla napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jast goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Abdalla rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jast's guard! Nice work there by Abdalla!

Abdalla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jast swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dran Jast overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jast can't keep his opponent in guard - Abdalla advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Abdalla is looking to pass Jast's guard but actually Jast recovers to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jast escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abdalla gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jast feints and as Abdalla raises his hands in defense, Jast changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jast trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jast has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jast stands and throws Abdalla's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jast swings around for an armbar but Abdalla sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jast's guard.

As Abdalla tries to get set, Jast tries to push him back and clinch up but Abdalla manages to avoid the attempt.
Abdalla misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Abdalla closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jast circles away.

Jast shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jast was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Abdalla throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Abdalla tries to work over Jast's front leg with a kick but Jast checks it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Abdalla lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jast has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jast and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

It looks like Dran Jast has been cut.

Rayle Amot Abdalla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dran Jast is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jast seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dran Jast.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Dran Jast rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
