Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royce Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Royce Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John misses with a wild combination.
John misses with a looping left.
John shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
John tries to bum rush Vega with a series of wild strikes but Vega uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
John fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
John gets a clinch.
Vega has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by John after a bit of a struggle.
Vega's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Some wild striking there from John.
Vega tries to counter by clinching up but John breaks away and moves out of range.
John lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vega circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

John throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Vega enables John to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vega manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vega manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. John manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
John is looking to stand back up but Vega counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by John.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
John throws a body kick that misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vega.
John clinches with his opponent.
Vega is looking for a takedown up against the cage. John gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Vega's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
John throws a series of punches but Vega avoids them all with ease.

As John tries to get set, Vega tries to push him back and clinch up but John manages to avoid the attempt.

John feints a jab promting Vega to slip. John then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Vega slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

John shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vega's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
