Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morita defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hays.
Hays shoots in for a takedown but Morita shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hays goes for a double leg but Morita avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Morita continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmundo Hays. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Katashi Morita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown attempt by Morita or perhaps it was just good defense by Hays, which made it look bad.

Morita gets a clinch.
Hays tries to pull guard but Morita won't allow it.
Hays tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Morita smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hays shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morita as he jumps to the side.
And Morita tries to counter it with a takedown but Hays pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Morita closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hays has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Morita avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hays fails to pull guard.
Hays wants a takedown.
Hays tries to pull guard but Morita won't allow it.

Morita wants the takedown. Hays is fighting it off but Morita persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hays's guard against the cage.

Hays throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Morita not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hays utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Morita connects with a nice short shot to Hays's temple.

Well, if Morita is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morita is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hays is just riding it out for now. Morita eventually gives up the hold.
Morita moves into full mount! Hays won't be happy about that!
Hays knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morita on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Morita cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hays throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Morita lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Morita is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hays's half guard.
Hays scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Morita manages to mount him!
Morita has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Morita is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hays is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hays flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Morita anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hays and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Morita slips an arm under Hays chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Morita has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Morita is squeezing on Hays like an anaconda would it's prey. Hays fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
