Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Curt Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nanu Negi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curt Alexander is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curt Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nanu Negi!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Negi looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Negi trying to control but Alexander is working from the bottom.
Alexander looking to hit a scissor sweep but Negi is one step ahead there.
Negi trying to control the position from guard on top but Alexander is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Alexander wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alexander keeping moving, preventing Negi from controlling successfully.
Negi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Alexander has his hands on Negi's head, controlling the position.

Alexander will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Alexander really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Negi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alexander looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Negi looks up at the clock and then as Alexander takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Negi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Alexander tries to control but Negi manages to take his back.

Alexander defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Negi is trying to hold Alexander in close to prevent damage but Alexander has managed to pass into half guard.

Alexander is working for a submission of some sort.
Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Negi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alexander is working away from the top position though.

Alexander is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Negi is just riding it out for now. Alexander eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Negi can't do much from the bottom here.

Alexander working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Negi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Curt Alexander will probably get the nod.

Negi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Negi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Alexander pulls Negi in close to prevent any damage.
Negi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alexander's guard.
Alexander regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Negi.
Negi wants to control from the top but Alexander keeps moving.

Negi won't allow Alexander to sweep him here.
Alexander is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Negi looking to sit in guard and control but Alexander gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Negi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Alexander defends well.

Alexander creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Negi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Alexander creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Negi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alexander uses from the top position.

Alexander is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Negi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well Alexander has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
