PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ladamion Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Bruschia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruschia is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gillette - Mr. Personality. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ladamion Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Bruschia!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruschia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harris sprawls well. Harris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bruschia gets slowly back to his feet.

Harris clinches up with Bruschia and pushes him back against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Harris - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Bruschia changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harris fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Harris gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Harris pulls guard effortlessly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris wants to sweep here but Bruschia controlling him for the moment.
Bruschia passes Harris's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bruschia not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Harris trying to hold on to Bruschia's head to control him but Bruschia postures up.
Harris is not content to let Bruschia control the position.

Harris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bruschia is working away from the top position though.
Bruschia missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Bruschia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Harris looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Bruschia is trying to control. Harris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Harris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bruschia on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bruschia is trying to control the action in half guard but Harris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bruschia wants to pass the guard but Harris is keeping the position.
Bruschia trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Harris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bruschia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bruschia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bruschia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Harris works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruschia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bruschia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Harris prevents Bruschia from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bruschia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bruschia in side control, throwing shots but Harris defends.
Bruschia throwing strikes but Harris manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Bruschia gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Bruschia manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harris got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bruschia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harris has managed to get both his arms back between Bruschia's legs - danger averted.
Bruschia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harris is one step ahead there.

Bruschia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bruschia is tightening it up a little... Harris has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Harris reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Harris taps out! Nice BJJ there by Bruschia!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bobby Bruschia!
Bobby Bruschia bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
