Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Atu Uba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamel Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uba goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Uba makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Atu Uba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Uba is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Uba had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Uba has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones works over Uba with some ground and pound from guard.

Uba is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well.
Jones is working Uba over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Uba has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Uba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Uba dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Uba's head and hops out.
Atu Uba is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Uba will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
