Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between edward dig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Pfeifer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, edward dig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Pfeifer!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dig is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pfeifer tries for a takedown but dig sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pfeifer shoots in but dig avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pfeifer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Pfeifer clinches but dig breaks the clinch

and dig holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pfeifer can't break the clinch.
dig fails to pull the fight into his guard.

dig pulls Pfeifer into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pfeifer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of dig is proving hard to escape from.

dig escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pfeifer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
dig has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Pfeifer trying to control the position from guard on top but dig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pfeifer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pfeifer wanted to stand there but dig had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pfeifer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

dig has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
dig seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pfeifer for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

You get the feeling that Pfeifer really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Pfeifer defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from dig.
Pfeifer is squirming around, avoiding dig's attempts to control the action.

Well dig has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
