Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Morgan Mayhem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svensson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Svensson is looking to work some ground and pound but Mayhem has wrist control.
Svensson stays in close to Mayhem's body and controls the position.

Mayhem looking for a guillotine here but Svensson defends easily.
Svensson passes Mayhem's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Svensson trying to control the action but Mayhem is working from the bottom.
Svensson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mayhem. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mayhem tries to kick Svensson off but Svensson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Svensson wants to free his trapped foot but Mayhem is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mayhem has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Svensson is working away from the top position though.
Svensson is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mayhem reverses the position - he's now on top in Svensson's guard.

Mayhem postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Svensson keeping moving, preventing Mayhem from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svensson wants to get back to his feet but Mayhem is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mayhem drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mayhem jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Svensson is looking to stand up but Mayhem isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mayhem gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Svensson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mayhem lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Svensson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Svensson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We've been hearing good reports from Mayhem's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Svensson gets to his feet. Mayhem looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Morgan Mayhem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mayhem looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Svensson is looking to clinch.
Svensson misses with a double jab.
Mayhem changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Svensson tries to avoid it but Mayhem manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Svensson to the ground. Svensson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mayhem shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Svensson as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morgan Mayhem. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Svensson shoots in and bounces Mayhem off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mayhem manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Mayhem is breathing heavily.

Mayhem ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mayhem no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mayhem wants to sweep but no luck.
Mayhem bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Svensson's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mayhem tries to free his leg and advance position but Svensson is retaining full guard.

Svensson is looking to stand up but Mayhem isn't so interested in that idea.

Mayhem decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mayhem uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Svensson.
Mayhem closes the distance and clinches up with Svensson, looking for a takedown. Mayhem pushes Svensson against the cage but Svensson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mayhem looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Svensson is fending him off so far but Mayhem persists. Nope, Svensson circles away and we're back to standing.
Svensson throws out a powerful jab.
Mayhem keeps the fight on the outside.
Mayhem tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Svensson looking to score a takedown here. Mayhem is defending well but Svensson drives through and ends up in Mayhem's guard.

Svensson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mayhem has locked up a guillotine! Mayhem's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Svensson is holding on here and Mayhem must be using up a lot of energy. Svensson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mayhem gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Morgan Mayhem!
Morgan Mayhem decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
