Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big Unit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Hiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiner has chosen you always believed as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiner fails to land the takedown.

Hiner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hiner showed some decent athleticism there.
Unit trying to control but Hiner postures up.
Hiner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Unit wants to improve his position but Hiner is controlling well.
Hiner is thwarting Unit's attempts to control the position.

Hiner prevents Unit from improving his position.
Hiner passes into side control, despite Unit's attempt to control the position.
Unit gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Unit is trying to maintain the position but Hiner is very close to passing his half guard.

Unit looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Unit keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hiner controlling the pace.
Unit trying to hold on to Hiner's head to control him but Hiner postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hiner stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Unit scores with a jab to the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Hiner. That snapped Unit's head back.

Hiner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Unit is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hiner working the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hiner remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Unit is looking to reverse the position.

Hiner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Unit has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hiner but great work by Unit.
Unit is breathing heavily.
Hiner is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Unit is thwarting Hiner's attempts to control the position.

Hiner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Unit fails with the takedown

and Hiner counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Unit utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hiner stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Unit with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hiner counters with a straight right hand.

Hiner darts in and clinches Unit up against the cage.

Hiner wants the takedown. Unit is fighting it off but Hiner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Unit's guard against the cage.

Unit is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hiner postures up.

Hiner stands and throws Unit's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Unit struggling a bit here.
Hiner taking a breather here.
Hiner tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Unit is letting Hiner control him for a moment.
Hiner working away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Unit tries to bench press Hiner off him but Hiner keeps the position.
Unit is trying to work for a sweep but Hiner has mounted him!
Hiner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
BOOM! Hiner connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hiner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Hiner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Unit is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hiner looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hiner misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Hiner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Hiner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hiner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Unit gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hiner counters with a straight right hand.
Unit shoots and misses

and Hiner counters with a shoot takedown. Unit fights it but they end up in guard.

Unit is working an open guard so Hiner takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hiner moves into the clinch.

Unit pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Unit misses.

Hiner clinches.

Hiner drops down looking for an ankle pick but Unit pulls his leg out and moves away.
Unit with a poor takedown

and Hiner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Unit's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Unit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hiner is looking to work some ground and pound but Unit has wrist control.
Hiner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Unit is looking for a triangle but Hiner pushes his legs off easily.
Unit preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Hiner decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Unit fails with the takedown

and Hiner counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Unit closes the distance and clinches.
Hiner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Unit jumps guard and drags Hiner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Unit trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Unit throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Hiner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Unit looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Unit is trying to control the position but Hiner postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Unit keeping moving, preventing Hiner from controlling successfully.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Doug Hiner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hiner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
