Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jefferson Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paolo Guerrero!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerrero misses with a double jab

and Lewis counters with a single leg into guard. Guerrero didn't expect that.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guerrero can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lewis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lewis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Guerrero can pounce on him.
Guerrero fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lewis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Guerrero doesn't manage to clinch there - Lewis circles away.
Lewis seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Guerrero swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paolo Guerrero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lewis counters with a takedown into side control.
Lewis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Lewis is trying to get an arm triangle but Guerrero is defending well.

Guerrero tries to improve position but can't.
Lewis lands some shots froms side control.
Guerrero trying to control but Lewis flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Lewis lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
