Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vun Diesel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vun Diesel!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silva is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Diesel to keep the fight standing.
Diesel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Diesel is looking for a takedown.
Diesel content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Silva jumps guard and drags Diesel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diesel won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
Silva is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Silva wants to sweep here but Diesel controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diesel trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva controls Diesel momentarily but Diesel frees himself.
Silva is looking to stand back up but Diesel counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silva.
Diesel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Diesel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Silva throws an elbow that misses.
Diesel jumps guard but Silva turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jay Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vun Diesel.
Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Diesel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Diesel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.

Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Diesel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diesel has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
Silva is trying to keep Diesel in close.
Diesel trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Diesel wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diesel wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Diesel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Diesel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Diesel tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Diesel connects with a leg kick. Silva looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Diesel stuffs the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Diesel - that will leave a mark!

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Diesel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Diesel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva swinging wildly here.
Diesel doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Diesel throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Diesel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a left to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Diesel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vun Diesel will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Diesel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Diesel shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Diesel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice takedown defense from Diesel. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diesel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Diesel replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Silva blocks it well.

The referee is keeping an eye on Silva - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Silva looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Diesel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Diesel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Diesel tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Diesel jabs Silva right on the nose. Silva blinks but takes it well.

Silva bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Diesel's head backwards.
Diesel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diesel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.

and Silva counters by clinching up.

Diesel misses with a low kick.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Diesel back into the cage.
Silva goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Silva gets through Diesel's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Silva with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Diesel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Silva after a bit of a struggle.
The referee is keeping an eye on Silva - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Silva tries to pull guard but Diesel forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Diesel keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Silva struggles to land a body shot inside as Diesel controls his hands.

Diesel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Diesel is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Silva dives into side control.

Diesel is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Diesel can't do much from the bottom here.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Silva.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
