And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hit Run!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wakabayashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Run quickly recovers to half guard.

Wakabayashi is working for a kimura but Run is defending it quite comfortably.
Wakabayashi sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Run defending well though.
Wakabayashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Run trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Wakabayashi manages to pass to mount!
Run wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Run tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wakabayashi not allowing Run to control his hands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Run can't escape the position.

Wakabayashi patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Run tries to break free.

Run is trying to defend against the choke here but Wakabayashi has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Wakabayashi Tightens the hold and Run taps out furiously! Wakabayashi displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yuta Wakabayashi!
A less than humble Yuta Wakabayashi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
