Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitris Pilikidis!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pilikidis.

Pilikidis pushes Stevenson up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Stevenson fails to land.
Pilikidis blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Stevenson tries to land a knee to the head but Pilikidis blocks with his arms.

Pilikidis gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stevenson is looking to improve his position.
Stevenson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Pilikidis is looking to advance position but Stevenson won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pilikidis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevenson keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stevenson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pilikidis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pilikidis's back!
Pilikidis is trying to stand back up.

I would not like to be Pilikidis right now.
Stevenson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pilikidis is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Stevenson is staying active.

Stevenson has his foot on Pilikidis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pilikidis works his way back into a safe position though.

The strikes coming from Pilikidis are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Pilikidis sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stevenson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Pilikidis is looking to take a break and control but Stevenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pilikidis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stevenson was covering up waiting for the punch and Pilikidis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Stevenson will probably get the nod.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stevenson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stevenson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stevenson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
