PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lui Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Jinx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken comes to the cage accompanied by Mortal Kombat. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lui Ken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Jinx!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ken misses with a wild combination.

Ken instigates a clinch.
Jinx unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Ken wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jinx has Ken pressed against the cage, preventing Ken from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jinx should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ken prevents a takedown attempt there.

Ken breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ken gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jinx tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ken just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ken's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ken misses with a double jab.
Ken will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jinx fails with a takedown attempt.
Lui Ken has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Jinx.

Jinx dodges the punch combination from Ken.

Jinx pushes Ken up against the cage in a clinch.
Jinx has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ken avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jinx breaks the clinch.
Jinx has a takedown stuffed.
Ken avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ken tries to counter with a takedown but Jinx is quick to defend against it.
Jinx just misses with a punch to the body.
Ken seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ken throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jinx slips a jab and a cross from Ken.
Ken tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jinx paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ken feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jinxs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jinx darts in looking for a takedown but Ken gets double underhooks and turns Jinx into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jinx fails with a takedown attempt.
Ken throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice takedown defense from Jinx. No joy for Ken on that attempt.
Jinx dives in for a single leg takedown but Ken sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ken lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jinx circles away quickly and effectively.
Jinx throws an overhand right that lands on Ken's shoulder, as Ken tries to avoid the shot.
Ken will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jinx throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ken gets tackled into the cage by Jinx. Jinx maintains the clinch.
Ken is trying to pull guard but Jinx turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jinx breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ken lands a glancing blow to the side of Jinx's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ken throws a nice looking combination but Jinx bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jinx dodges the punch combination from Ken.

Ken changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jinx looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jinx explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Ken closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jinx's guard.

Jinx scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jinx fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jinx fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jinx looks winded!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jinx.
Ken cracks the inside of Jinx's front leg.

Ken fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jinx to the ground. Ken is now in Jinx's guard.

Jinx manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Ken's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ken drags the fight down to the ground.
Jinx trying to control but Ken is working from the bottom.

Jinx content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ken has locked up a guillotine! Ken's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Jinx is holding on here and Ken must be using up a lot of energy. Jinx has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ken gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lui Ken!
Lui Ken decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
