Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Austin Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Long!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Powers not doing much here.

Powers decides to stand and escape the position.
Long tries to clinch up.
Long is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A head kick from Long lands but Powers takes it in his stride.

Powers darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Powers controlling the pace.

Powers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Powers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Powers decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Powers is breathing heavily.

Powers scores with a takedown into Long's guard.
Powers trying to control the position from guard on top but Long is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Powers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Long is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Long tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Powers gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Long's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Powers throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Long is trying to buck Powers off.
The referee asks Powers politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Powers prefers to stall for the moment though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Long wants to clinch up but Powers keeps it at a distance.
Long tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powers swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Long misses with a knee strike.
Long throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Powers blocks it with crossed arms.

Powers has clasped his hands together around Long's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Long trying to remain calm as Powers controls from the top position.
Powers throws a strike aimed at the side of Long's head but Long avoids it well.

Powers tries for a kimura but Long is defending well.
Powers trying to control the position but Long is working away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Powers moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Long is looking to reverse the position.
Powers wants to control but Long is keeping him busy.

Powers decides to stand back up. Powers steps back and let's Long get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Long closes the distance looking to clinch

and Powers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Powers prevents Long from improving his position.
Long trying to control from the bottom.
Powers is keen to just control but Long is a slippery customer.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Long keeping moving, preventing Powers from controlling successfully.
Powers passes Long's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Long tries to get to full guard but Powers has control of the leg.
Powers is taking a breather. Long says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Long makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Long.
Powers trying to control but Long is working from the bottom.
Long has a closed guard, preventing Powers from standing up.

Long is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Powers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Long is keeping the position for now.
Long controls Powers momentarily but Powers frees himself.

Mr Long has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Powers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Powers fails with an attempt to clinch.
Austin Powers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Long closes the distance looking to clinch

and Powers moves into the clinch.
Long lands a nice knee to the body.
Long using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Powers has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Long connects with a knee to the head.

Powers takes an elbow to the forehead.
Long tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

And that's the end of the fight!
Austin Powers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
