Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Modesto Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, One Aussie!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Watson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aussie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Price to the mat! Price manages to get full guard.

Aussie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Price looking for a sweep. Not yet Price, not yet.
Price is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aussie is controlling him.
Aussie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Price working a defensive guard but Aussie passes into half guard.

Price is defending against the submission attempts here by Aussie.
Aussie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Price is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Price is looking to escape.

Well, if Aussie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Price pushes Aussie off looking to stand but Aussie dives back in and keeps control.

Aussie decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Aussie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Aussie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Price keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aussie thowing shots but they're missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Price somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Aussie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aussie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Price throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aussie's waist but Aussie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Price off to one side.
Price tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aussie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Price looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Price tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Aussie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Price's guard.
Price doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Aussie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Aussie stands and throws Price's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Aussie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Price is not content to let Aussie control the position.

Sloppy strikes there by Aussie.
Price wants to control but Aussie postures up.
Price misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Price trying to control but Aussie flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Aussie is persistently looking for the submission but Price is defending it well.
Aussie throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Price is trying to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aussie biding his time, looking for the opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aussie rushes Price with punches - Price moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Price goes down! Aussie follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
