PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oyster Sauce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaka Zoula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaka Zoula told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Oyster Sauce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shaka Zoula!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoula wants to land a leg kick but Sauce is out of range.
Zoula throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sauce shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zoula counters with an outside leg kick.
Zoula shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sauce takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sauce steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Zoula. That one must have hurt.

Sauce gets a double leg takedown into Zoula's guard.
Sauce slips nicely into half guard.
Sauce uses his free foot to push down on Zoula's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zoula.

Sauce with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sauce moves to the back.

Sauce looking to break Zoula's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Zoula remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sauce will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Zoula is trying to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sauce is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Zoula is tapping out! This one is all over!
