Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight misses with a body shot.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch but Burnett swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Knight fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Burnett to the ground. Knight is now in Burnett's guard.
Burnett is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A slapping body kick lands there for Burnett.

Knight drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Knight has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burnett is proving hard to escape from.

Burnett uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Knight fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burnett sprawls well initially but Knight persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Burnett makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Burnett has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Knight works to full guard.
Our spies down at at Mayhem MMA inform us that Knight has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Knight shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burnett is trying to defend but Knight finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Knight is nestled in close to Burnett, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Knight throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burnett.
Knight wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Burnett shoots in and drives through. Knight sprawls well.
Knight appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Mark Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knight throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burnett was covering up waiting for the punch and Knight finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Burnett lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Burnett.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Burnett shoots in for a double leg but Knight sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Burnett wants to get up but he can't break Knight's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Burnett trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Knight is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Burnett's half guard.

Burnett kicks off Knight and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burnett tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knight sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burnett somewhat.
Despite the aggression on Knight's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Burnett catches Knight with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Knight shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burnett's guard.

Burnett is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Knight presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The referee calls for Burnett to work.
Burnett is looking to break free of the clinch but Knight has double underhooks.

Knight is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Burnett is keeping busy.

Knight breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
