Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Rino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mace Windu!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Windu moves out of range of the body kick from Rino.
Windu throws a lazy right hand but Rino sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rino misses with a hook. Windu ducked under it nicely.
Rino scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Rino clinches with his opponent.
Rino tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Windu just stands there and leans against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Windu scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rino misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Rino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rino jumps guard but Windu stands there with Rino around his waist. Rino gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Windu is not content to let Rino control the position.

Our spies down at at Jedi Academy inform us that Windu has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Rino wants to lay and pray for a moment but Windu keeps working.

Rino seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Windu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rino is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Windu can do to turn this around?
Windu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A head kick misses from Rino.
Rino has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Rino lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Windu circles away quickly and effectively.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Windu! But no joy.
Windu keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Rino throws a combination that misses

and Windu counters with a head kick that drops Rino to the mat! Rino scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Henry Rino is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Rino takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Windu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Rino is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Windu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Windu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rino defends it easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Henry Rino will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Windu tries to circle away but Rino has him pinned against the cage.

Windu has had enough of the clinch but Rino keeps him there for the moment.
Rino tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Windu smiles and moves away.
Rino throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Windu moves out of range of the body kick from Rino.
It seemed like Windu was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Rino has taken the fight to the clinch.
Windu misses with some punches.
Rino tries to pull guard but Windu holds him up against the cage and eventually Rino drops back down to his feet.

Rino pulls guard effortlessly.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Windu looking to pass the guard.
Windu is pushing down on Rino's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rino is fighting to maintain full guard but Windu has managed to sneak the leg through.

Windu seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rino is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Windu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Windu's back!

You can see the frustration on Windu's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Henry Rino is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Windu manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rino's guard. Nice work there by Windu.

Windu seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rino is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Mace Windu!
After the fight, Mace Windu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
