Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Robles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apollo Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marco Robles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apollo Williams!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robles stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Robles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Robles counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Marco Robles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Apollo Williams.
Williams is trying to keep Robles in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Robles has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Williams tries to pull guard but Robles forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Robles blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Robles wants to take the fight to the mat but Williams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Robles.
A head punch on the inside from Williams fails to land.
Robles could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Robles tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.

Robles gets tackled into the cage by Williams. Williams maintains the clinch.
Robles wants to get back to striking at distance but Williams won't allow it.

Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams dives in for a single leg takedown but Robles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Robles wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Williams tries for a takedown but Robles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Williams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Robles is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it.

Williams creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Robles sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robles sprawls well. Robles wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.

Robles has Williams pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Robles pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Williams tumbling to the mat - Robles dives into Williams's guard.

Williams has his foot on Robles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robles works his way back into a safe position though.

Williams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Robles is controlling him.

Williams controls Robles momentarily but Robles frees himself.
Robles slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Marco Robles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Williams.

Good leg kick by Williams there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Robles.
Williams throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Williams throws a series of punches but Robles avoids them all with ease.

and Robles counters by moving into the clinch.

Williams jumps guard and drags Robles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Williams wants to sweep but no luck.

Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Robles is aware though and is defending well.

Robles throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Robles.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Apollo Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Williams is trying to break the clinch but Robles is controlling him.
Robles drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Williams gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Robles regains guard.
Williams sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Robles's guard.
Williams works his way into side control.

Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Robles sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Williams looks to move away, Robles throws a big counter combo bu Williams just gets out of the way.
Horrible takedown attempt by Robles or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams, which made it look bad.

and Robles counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that.

Robles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Williams. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Robles tightens his grip and picks Williams up, before dumping him to the ground. Williams manages to land in guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marco Robles.
I think Williams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
