PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ted Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Banans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joe Banans was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banans throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hernandez was covering up waiting for the punch and Banans finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hernandez can't keep his opponent in guard - Banans advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Banans content to control rather than advance.

Hernandez kicks Banans off and gets back to his feet.

Banans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hernandez tries to kick Banans off in order to stand up. Banans Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hernandez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Banans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hernandez keeps working.
Hernandez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Banans is controlling him well.
Hernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Banans looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Hernandez sneaks out the side door and pushes Banans away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Banans looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Banans looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hernandez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Banans on the ground.
Hernandez working a defensive guard but Banans passes into half guard.

Hernandez is not content to let Banans control the position.

Banans seems to be working for a kimura but Hernandez defends the submission attempt.
Hernandez tries to kick Banans off but Banans keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hernandez trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hernandez is working to get back to half guard.
Hernandez has given up his back. Will we see Banans going for some submissions?
Hernandez is trying to get back to his feet but Banans has full control of the position and if anything, Hernandez has just worked his way into a worse spot.

I really don't envy Hernandez right now.
Banans slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Banans has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hernandez! Can he survive? No! He's out! Banans gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
