The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts lands a slapping body shot.
Roberts lands with a good body shot.
Roberts throws a body punch but Bird moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Bird tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Roberts throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Roberts comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Roberts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bird was well out of range. Poor timing from Roberts.
Roberts cracks a nice hook into Bird's ribs.
Roberts fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Roberts rushes Bird and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A short right from Roberts.
Bird tries to pull guard but Roberts holds him up against the cage and eventually Bird drops back down to his feet.
Bird can't break the clinch.
Good body shot from Roberts.

Bird pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice cross by Roberts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roberts lands with a slapping head kick.
Some wild striking there from Roberts.
The crowd cheers as Roberts lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bird doesn't seem phased though.

Roberts moves into the clinch successfully.
Bird can't get the takedown.

Bird gets control of Roberts's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bird will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Roberts wanted to stand there but Bird had control of the position.

Roberts wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Bird's closed guard. He's half up but Bird has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Bird pivots and extends the arm, Roberts falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Bird! Well done that man!
