The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruffin shoots in for a takedown but Horn shows good takedown defense.
Horn is looking to counter punch.
Horn stuffs the takedown attempt from Ruffin. Ruffin gets slowly back to his feet.
Ruffin misses with a takedown attempt - Horn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Horn throwing a counter right hand but Ruffin manages to avoid it.
Hilario Horn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaiah Ruffin.
Ruffin tries for a takedown but Horn circles away easily
and Horn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Horn shoots in and gets a takedown into Ruffin's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ruffin wants to get back to his feet but Horn is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ruffin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Horn puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Horn content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Horn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Horn in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Ruffin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Horn!
